I know a bit late on this but kind of want to get back into the swing of things for scrapping and what a better way. Participate without actually scrapping. I so want to but have to load everything back on to my puter and then get shopping. I might shop for a bit first..lol!

Anywho here is mine:

Mimi asked what were our summer jobs as a teenager?

I baby sat a lot through the summer months. I think I babysat for 4 or 5 families so that kept me busy. I went to one families trailer with them. I didn't do much as a babysitter unless the parents wanted to do something together. Other then that I had a "party" weekend and got paid.

I worked at McDonalds for a bit but didn't like it so quit..LOL!

I also delivered flyers for a while also.

As a teenager I really didnt need to work so I chose not too...lol...LOVE YA Mom and Dad for spoiling me so!

My best friend and I outside FREEZING in Feb 2003 on our way to Ohio!

Kara and I outside Hollo's Papercraft. I met Kara in October2001Babies {MSN Group} and found we also shared our love for scrapbooking. Kara lives in Ohio and meet me at the store.

My buddie Kelly & I outside Hollo's Papercraft. 9 hour drive for $1 a pound cardstock. It was the first time my buddie and I went on a trip together. Her "hubbie" had to come because we both dont drive..lol..=P

Tried to find it in a hurry but can't..I also sent a postcard home to my son. I knew I would be back b4 it was delivered but wanted my ROO to know I was thinking of him..=P

On the way back after we got LOST in Buffalo and almost out of gas {an no US money} we get stopped at Customs trying to get into Canada and the officer at the booth asks my buddie's hubbie what we were doing in the US. He turns and says.....Croppin for $1 a pound...HELLO you dont say something like that to an officer {I'm in the back screaming he's just the "chauffeur" he has no idea what he is talking about. We're scrapbookers}, so of course we get, can you pull over there please.

We got searched, the car got searched and LOTS of questions...All cause a man has NO idea what the sbing lingo is. He just took it as since we go "croppin" together that would be a good way to say what the trip was about.

Needless to say I will NEVER go over the border with him again...=P

We laugh about it now but at the time I was so upset and prolly spitting nails.

May 5th 2007:

my answer: Paris! I had a penpal there since the age of 11 and just growing up and seeing photos, her tapes she sent of music over there..I just want to go and soak it all in myself. My penfriend has now moved to England but Paris is still my first choice to go...=P

Q2: What cartoons do you absolutely detest & refuse to allow anyone to watch {be it child, spouse- haha, nieces/nephews.. etc just plain don’t want it viewed on your television)?
my answer: The Simpsons, Futurama, Power Rangers and a few others!

my answer: Yell, hold on!

my answer: My Dad was the best when it came to my birthday. I got to go with my sister {or friend but always picked my sister} to Canada's Wonderland theme park here in Toronto. My bday party was usually at an outside McDonald's for my friends and family but my Dad's "gift" was a day out with him riding the rides and just having fun!

my answer: hmmm...have worn odd socks b4 and also skipped on socks cause of what I was wearing.

Q7: Are there any strange stains on your carpet, floor, walls, ceiling or couch? Do you know how they got there? Nope..Yep on Kai's car rug {has roads and buildings}can't figure if its juice or popcicle.

Q8: Are your neighbors annoying???
my answer: Yes but since I blare my music at weird times too and he hasn't complained to me I guess its alright. He is constantly building stuff so its saws, drills, hammers, OH MY its annoying.

my answer: Nope I would prolly say I'm on my way out and get Kai dressed to go outside to the grocery store {if you called me today Saturday May 26th at 1:04 pm}. I do need to go..=P

Lauren wants to know about our quirks...=P

I am a bit of a neat freak but at the same time I can be the laziest one in the house. B4 becoming single that is...now the laziness is coming from a different "corner". Now being lazy is just OMGISH I have other things to do, as be4 it was I'm tired of cleaning up after everyone.

Anywho, my biggest "anal" thing in my house is spraying the toilet down after EVERY use. Yep as soon as my butt leaves the sit it is getting sprayed down with Vim {diluated}. Just so I know that anyone that sits down in my bathroom is sitting on a clean seat. Little boys dont tend to get it in the bowl all the time..lol...=P

So many more but I think that one is my weirdest quirk....=P

I haven't made anything from "scratch" since I found these AWESOME "bags" of Muffins, Cookies, Brownies etc.

1 bag is 2 "batchs" of whatever you have chose to buy/make. With my son this is 2 baking days in the kitchen per bag.

Kai LOVES the Banana Muffins and now the Brownie's..I dont buy this one as much but do buy the Banana Muffins as soon as the bag is gone...Good to keep on hand.

I found these at No Frills {Toronto} just below the cake mixes etc for just under $3 CDN...=P

I havent really planned anything far in advance for April.

We have started off with traveling for Easter, well not me but Kai has. Kai went with my Dad, Sister {Mim} and my brother. To my Nanie's {Kai calls her Grandmother} for celebrating my sister's birthday {march 31st} and Easter the following weekend.

I plan to go through Kai's clothes and toys again throughout this month. Kai is into the next "phase" in toys so I really dont need to keep the "babyish" ones anymore. Off they go to my cousin Kira for her boys {2nd due soon}.

Just thought of this with mentioning my cousin, I will be travelling soon to see them and the new little one...If she has in April and not May.

Spring cleaning of the house is this month. Already started with the kitchen and throwing out containers and things I find I dont use anymore.

I think that is it for not having anything planned out but may have some surprise "adventures" throughout the month.

Another Blog "Challenge" on the 16th of March...Bit Late but here I go.

I'm from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

I have lived here all my life. My Mom was born here but my Dad is from "Newfoundland" {born 20 days be4 NL confederated to Canada so still a British Isle}.

I use to LOVE LOVE LOVE living in Toronto, but not now. Over the last 10 years or so I have watched my city start to fall in my opinion. There are still WAY cool places to see, musicals/plays to watch, but to me not the same feel.

I went searching online to find some photos that I thought would "represent" my city with how I use to see it. Also the 3 places I have and still would enjoy going to...=P

HarborFront: The view is gorgeous with the CN Tower in the background (another place I go).

Here is where we go to grab the ferry to the Island for a kids amusement park and a day of FUN! Its huge....There's a beach there and on the right side of the island is where I remember going for "family day" picnic's with the Toronto Ambulance when I was younger {mom daycare'd and we went with the family}.

There are actual families living on the island and commute into the city daily. In the photo is a Water Taxi.

Down town Toronto. I picked this view for the building in the distance {brown one}. We still have some pretty "funky" looking structures here that are really amazing to see.

Casma Loma: What is better then having your own castle right in the middle of the city. Cama Loma is another FAV and top of my list for a day trip. The history inside, beautiful landscape, the rooms, the information you receive and hear while there {on a tour}. I love it here and is one of the places Kai and I are going to this summer with a few friends.

Trying something new....I have been hanging out at Sweet Shoppe Designs lately and came across their blog "challenge".

Today's blog entry is to answer these 3 questions.

1. If you could witness one supernatural event–whether you believe in the supernatural or not–what would it be? Why?

I would LOVE to be able to connect with my Mom again. I don't know if you have seen the movie White Noise with Michael Keaton. If you haven't it is about connecting with the deceased through electronical devices, e.g. stereos and TVs. I would just like to know a few things to rest my "heart". I have a few regrets on my behavior with my Mom near the end of her time here and would really would like to know if she "mad" at me. My Mom passed May 23rd, 2004 from Cancer.

2. What is your earliest memory? Why do you think you have remembered that particular event or thing?

As soon as I read this question this memory came to mind as one of my first memories. Being in church (Salvation Army) with my Nanie (Parliament and Dundas). I started dozing off (I know bad) so my Nan told me to go to the back pew and lie down, I did. I can "see" myself lying there snoozing. I think I was 5 or 6. I honestly dont know why I remember this....I just do...=P

3. Pick a friend or acquaintance with whom you think you would like to start a new business venture. What business?

I would love to go into business with my son's father. He is an awesome artist (have scrapped a few of his drawings) and I think with his drawings (scanning) and then with him learning a graphical program he can turn his drawings into digital elements to sell. I can make somethings but not enough to become a designer to sell.

Thanks SSD..This is the first time ever I have shared anything "personal" on my blog. Other then talking about my son and his adventures.

Way To Long

I know since I posted last. A lot has happened over the last 4 months. I moved in to a fair size 1 bdrm with my son. I am finding it a lot "harder" then be4 because even with a room-mate I didn't do everything kwim. Now its just me and LOVING it....=P

Kai and I were both sick for over 1 month. Everytime Kai got "better" I would send him to school and he would just come back with the cold again. Finally mid December a few days b4 xmas break I didn't send Kai back til break was over. so almost a full month at home just so he wouldn't get sick again. There were a few of the kids that were coming back to school daily even with them "tossing their cookies" everywhere. I am so glad that this cold over...=P

Nothing else really postable for my blog readers but lets just say it's not been a good 4 months of me being MIA to my duties and responsibilties on the net. I haven't been around much and hoping with what looks like the worse is over. I can slowly get myself back out there in the communities and working on my LOs etc...Fingers crossed...lol...=P

I made this LO with a photo I took of Kai on Monday morning when we were getting ready to leave for his 2nd day of school.

2nd LO is of my sister Dawn/ScrapnShamrock and Kai when we picked him up on his first day of school (friday afternoon). Mim is Dawn's nickname for Aunt.

Kai had his first day of school today...We had a bit of a "meltdown" in the morning but he turned around. Got to his school and all was good. Kai played with the other JK/SK kids in their playground til it was time to go in.

Time for another mini "meltdown"..lol...I walked him in and put his things in his cubby and he wouldn't move away from me. Mrs Mitchell (Kai's teacher) came over to chat to me and then I turned to her and said.."Should I just say my goodbyes and go?"...Mrs. Mitchell replied yes so I said bye to my Roo and said I will see you in a bit and off I went. I have no idea how it went after I left in the morning (will ask monday) but when I returned (Kai's Dad was already there/dropped him off in the am also). Kai was looking out his classroom window waving at us. My sister Dawn/Mim (as Kai calls her) came along to share in Kai's first day and help take photos for me (so Kai and I could be in some together). On our way home, as Kai rides in his "limo" (huge wagon) Kai turns around and says..."Oh Mom I have to go back to school "tomorrow" so I can play on the computer." I am so proud of my little...oh I mean big boy!!!!!

This is Jennifer Valentyne from Breakfast Television (BT) here in Toronto. BT is on from 6 am to 9am and Jennifer's "role" is being our Live Eye news caster.

I really like Jennifer..she is so witty and where she takes us in the mornings are informative and fun to watch.

These photos were taken by my buddie (Kelly) during the "live" airing of how Scarborough Village Public School is building an "accessible" playground for all the children to use. Kelly's dd Jaidan (oldest) attends SVPS.

Here are 2 other LOs I created with the photos my buddie shared with me.

Frank Ferragine is "Frankie Flowers" Mr. Greenthumb himself. I can't remember when sometime this year Frank has joined the team inside and outside the newsroom. Another great addition to the crew.
